L.E.O. (Lower Extremity Orthotist) L.E.O. is used as an abbreviation for this specialty instead of "orthotist" because of the unique focus on lower extremity orthoses: foot orthoses, ankle orthoses, ankle-foot orthoses. "Orthotist" usually refers to one who makes orthoses for all parts of the body including neck orthoses, spinal orthoses, etc. Footco does not go above the knee with bracing.
